On this Day Facebook Food Memory 4-19-13

If you need a simple dinner idea lol here's one from four years ago today lol
I call it Cheesy Chicken Finger Spaghetti

Ingredients:
Egg noodles (Only noodles I had 😂)
Spaghetti Sauce (I'm sure it was plain)
Chicken tenders (I used precooked chicken fingers I tried then cut in pieces)
Shredded Cheese
Hot sauce ( If you need a kick)

Smashburger (Hampton VA Peninsula Town Center)

I guess I wasn't stalking this place enough. I found out today they opened on 3/8/17. When I first saw this place during the construction phase I looked up the website. I was immediately excited because of all the option offered to craft your burger. Five guys is good but I prefer cheddar cheese on my burger which they don't offer. I was sooooooo very hungry after getting off work. Random thought?  Oh let me see if that Smashburger place is open. I was greeted very nicely by the cashier. Anything I didn't understand on the menu was clearly explained. I ordered a Big Smashburger with cheddar cheese and bacon. After my order was taken I was told to go to the pick up area to wait for my order. I waited maybe less than five minutes before my burger came to me. I choose take out for my order since my baby boy was home waiting for me 😍. He's nine months today. 

I was told by the cashier that this burger would be well worth the money spent and boy was she right. When I got my bag I was really surprsurprised to see my burger in a plastic container. Made me really feel somewhat sophisticated lol. I opened the container and my eyes became hearts 😍. I loved the size and beauty bestowed upon me. So how about the taste? The burger was juicy but not greasy. It didn't taste seasoned but it didn't need to be. The flavor from the cheddar cheese and bacon were perfect compliments. This burger was good to the last bite. If you like customizable options for a well crafted burger this should be your go to spot. I can't wait to go back and try some other menu items

Doumars Barbecue Norfolk VA

Food usually tastes better when you don't have to pay for it. Unfortunately not in this case. Yesterday my son had to get diagnostic bloodwork done at CHKD in Norfolk. Our driver had to stop and get something to eat and offered to buy me something. At first I politely declined but I quickly changed my mind. I've never been to this place before. Our driver ordered a couple of burgers and an order of fries for herself. I just wanted to try a bacon cheeseburger.

I'm glad I didnt pay for this 😟. The burger was overcooked and dried out. I'm almost sure salt and pepper was used to season the burger. I say that only because it tasted salty. To much salt may have caused the burger to shrivel up and dry out. I was told that this spot was featured on Food Networks Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. This place has the feels of a family friend environment. It's cool that you can sit in your car, have the  delivered to your car and eat comfortably. I don't live in Norfolk and only come when my soon needs to see his cardiologist so I don't see myself coming back. Nice place though....

Red Lobster Cajun Chicken Alfredo

I've been back a few times since that awesome visit. This particular day found me very hungry after running a few errands with my son. I looked across the street and the Red Lobster sign just called out to me 😂😂. I decided to treat myself to a nice meal. My last visit was with my mom about three months ago. That's when I first tried to the Cajun Chicken Alfredo. I love Alfredo especially with chicken so it wasn't even a second thought to try this dish. I love that the sauce is a nice thick and creamy consistency. My fettuccine noodles were well coated with sauce which is a big thing for me. The Cajun spices on the chicken is indeed a WINNER!!! I may never want to have regular grilled chicken again. The spice hit my tongue just right without it being overbearingly spicy.

Since I'm a creature of habit, this will be my new go to meal at Red Lobster. The biscuits are always so hot, buttery and soft. The only complaint I have is that my salad was so cold that it literally tasted like it was just taken out the deep freezer. I didn't bother to bring it to the attention of my server since everything else was satisfactory. I had the nerve to get a dinner portion size and couldn't finish it all 😂😂. My son was such a good boy and let me eat my meal before he started fussing to pick him up.....

Burger King: New Crispy Chicken Sandwich

So I'm scrolling through the comment section on Facebook to see the reactions to this sandwich. I see that a good majority of people hate this sandwich. According to alot of the comments, this sandwich is worst the the Tendercrisp. There were a few sprinklings of people who enjoyed the sandwich. 

When the Tendercrisp first came out I was fan. It was a nice size, very tender and the breading was crispy enough without being hard to chew through. Eventually the taste  went downhill and I stopped eating it. I moved on the the BK stackers (I'm so upset those are no longer apart of the menu 😣😕😟😦). A few weeks ago I decided to get lunch before work and try out this new crispy chicken sandwich. In my opinion this sandwich is nothing to get excited about. It wasn't crispy but the chicken wasn't all the way bland. You can taste some seasoning  (onion powder?). It's just something about the taste of the chicken that throws me off a little. When I taste chicken from Wendy's and Chick-Fil-A it tastes like authentic white meat. I ate all of my meal with no issues though.

A week later my mother stopped at BK to get dinner for my sister and I. I told her to get the crispy chicken meal for me. IT WAS DISGUSTING. The chicken was hard and tasted nasty. My onion rings were limp and cold. My phone was dead so I couldn't take pictures. At this point I can do without Burger King.....The End
