Domino's Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich

If you live in the Buckroe area of Hampton VA I'm sure you're aware by now that we have a Domino's closer to us on Nickerson Blvd 🎉🎊. I swear it's the relief I needed. The location on King St did not deliver to my town home complex after dark. The complex was under different ownership at one point until a realty company purchased the property and remodeled. Apparently the drivers were getting robbed.

This location has been open for quite some time before having their Grand opening about a few weeks ago. I did have a small complaint about my order of Cinnamon bread twists one night. I placed a call to the restaurant the next night because I decided to place the same order again. I wanted to make someone aware so it wouldn't happen again. About five minutes later the manager calls to apologize for my experience and offered me a discount off my next order. Awesome customer service. I absolutely love when companies are attentive to their customers.

Sooooo.... this leads me to the review of a menu item I decided to try because of the discount. Normally I'll stick to pizza, cinnamon bread twists (I'm so addicted to these twists and eating some now as I type up this post ironically) and occasionally I'll add some boneless chicken (I love the Kicker hot sauce). My mom is a fan of the build your own pasta and the Mediterranean Veggie sandwich since she's a vegetarian. I decided to try the Philly cheese steak sandwich.

Love the bread. It's soft surprisingly because it looks hard at first glance.

There wasn't hardly enough meat at all. Like the meat didn't even fill up the sandwich. This should literally be a $1.  You can definitely make this yourself at home with much more meat and flavor. The sandwich includes american cheese, provolone cheese, green peppers, mushrooms and onions. I only had steak, provolone cheese and onions. On the website you can add extra steak and provolone cheese. I ate the sandwich because I didn't want to waste my money but um yea Dominos...please never ever attempt a steak sandwich again. I read reviews online after and alot of them said the same things I just complained about. I ask that you NEVER EVER get rid of the Cinnamon Bread Twists. Thanks!

Anna's Pizza in Buckroe : Good ol' Steak Sub

Check out my Initial review for Anna's Pizza in Buckroe: http://evonathefoodlover.blogspot.com/2017/09/annas-pizza-in-buckroe.html

I'm so happy to live less than 10 minutes away from this place. About a week after I posted my review I was on Facebook when I saw one of their sponsored ads. On the ad they had a variety of subs displayed and one of them happened to be a steak sub. Oh the power of advertisement lol. I wasn't in the mood to cook so I called in my order. Crazy enough I was already in the mood for a steak sub and was going to call another place that I was already familiar with. I'm so glad I took the chance. The steak was so juicy and flavorful. On my sub I'm plain jane with it. Meat, cheese, lettuce and mayo. I believe I mentioned this in my first review but I really, really love their bread. It's crusty without being hard and you can tell it's fresh. My mother is a fan of their shrimp Parmesan sub and build a pasta bowl with shrimp, penne noodles and vodka sauce. My family and I have ordered from them quite a few times since. Always great customer service.

Banquet vs Devour Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese

Check out my review for Devour Buffalo Mac and Cheese here: http://evonathefoodlover.blogspot.com/2017/06/devour-buffalo-chicken-mac-cheese.html

So I'm in Food Lion looking for meals in the frozen food section to take to work and this Banquet meal catches my eye. Now to be honest I've always bypassed the Banquet meals simply because none of them looked appealing. After having the Devour Buffalo Mac and Cheese I'm really hooked.  As I picked up this the box I was really drawn to how the meal on the box looked of restaurant quality. I also appreciated that the chicken is all white meat because I expected rib meat to appear somewhere on the box. Although I was shopping for quick meals I could take to work, I decided to try this meal at home.

Straight out the box this looks promising. I give Banquet an A+ for presentation

This is how the meal looks after being heated up.I smelled the buffalo aroma as soon as I peeled back the plastic.

This is after I stirred the Mac. So what's the verdict? I actually like this meal however I have to crown Devour as the winner. The grilled chicken is delicious and you can definitely tell it's all white meat chicken. I absolutely love the garnishment of parsley for that touch of color. The buffalo flavor wasn't overwhelming at all. The only thing that I don't like is the thin sauce consistency of the mac and cheese. I'm sure if I wanted to I could have thickened it up with some shredded cheddar cheese but I'm judging this based off of first preparation with no adjustments. I'd still purchase this meal though. Also I do want to point out that I prepared both meals in the microwave as these kind of meals were made to be essentially quick and easy. I may try via oven to see if there's a difference in taste. If I do I will edit both posts.
