MyPi Chicken Carbonara

I work right across the way from the Hampton MyPi location (Peninsula Town Center). Since its so convenient, you constantly see co-workers coming in with their boxes during lunch time. They have a special currently going on with the signature pizza's for six dollars and some change. If you don't choose to get a signature pizza, you can build your own personal pizza and get a 10% discount if you work in PTC. Usually when I eat here I just order a custom cheese and pepperoni. I love that the marinara sauce is flavorful and the dough remains soft enough to enjoy right out of the oven. It's cool that they can deliver such good quality and tasty personal pizza within minutes. Last week I decided to try a signature pie. I ordered the Chicken Carbonara. This pizza comes with Creamy Alfredo sauce, Parmesan, mozzarella, chicken, bacon, mushrooms & crushed red pepper ( Ingredient list taken straight from the MyPi website http://mypipizza.com/

I had everything except the mushrooms. I was never a big fan although my mom has told me she's snuck some in spaghetti on more that a few occasions. The first bite had me saying WOW! why didn't I try this pizza sooner? I love how the bacon bits were crispy. The chicken pieces are diced nicely and covers the pizza throughout. I also appreciate that the chicken was all white meat and didn't have a bland taste. The Alfredo sauce is also just as flavorful as the marinara. After a while of eating I did have a bit of an after taste going on but I pretty much ate about 70% of the pizza by this point. After drinking some water I was ok. I didn't get to finish my pizza so I took it with me back to work. Unfortunately my body didn't handle this pizza well.I had a case of acid reflux and then the restroom was calling me way before my last 10 minute break of the day. I guess I can conclude the Alfredo sauce may be to rich for me. What a bummer but kudos to me for at least trying another menu item. Of course I will continue to get my cheese and pepperoni lol.
