I eat alot of Red Baron deep dish pizza's for lunch. As usual I went to grab for them while shopping at Target but I looked up and saw Digiornos pizzas in a smaller size. I never picked them up before because I thought they had to go in the oven. When I read that they were microwavable I felt like trying it out so I purchased only one. I had my doubts because sometimes it can be a hit or miss on microwavable foods. I'm glad I tried it because this pizza is soooooooo good. The box that the pizza comes in has a cooking tray that crisp up the crust. I was so surprised that it tasted just as good as if it were cooked in the oven. I went back out and got two more boxes to eat for lunch at work.
THIS PIZZA IS TAKING OVER MY WHOLE LIFE LOL!!!
I just can't stop eating them. I've eaten about 10 in almost two weeks. Dang Red Baron....I'm so sorry but it looks like after all these years I've found a new love......
Next time you're cruising the frozen food section, go one a grab a few of these microwavable Digorno pizzas. I mean it's just you tonight deciding on what to eat and you know you don't feel like cooking....or if you're a mother of one child who loves pizza the benefit is it'll be done in three minutes.

Five Guys
The company I work for needed reps to come in yesterday. Since I missed a day during the week I volunteered. When I found out they would feed us dinner I'm instantly excited. A paper is being passed around and I see it's an order sheet for Five Guys. I tried a burger from that place earlier last year and I couldn't understand the hype. It was a bland burger with ketchup and tasted like it could use some salt and pepper.
Well since it was free I was willing to try it again. So what's the verdict???? I was pleased this time. No bland burger lol I tasted some flavor this time. Nice juicy double cheeseburger with bacon. The fries were ok. I tried some of the cajun and regular. Some fries were overcooked so it took from the experience a liitle bit. Now I still don't get the hype but if I'm ever in the mood for a burger and around the area, I'll stop in. Their burgers don't top a Denny's double bacon cheddar burger though...Just saying.
Are you a Five Guys Fan? Tell me below 😆

Benny Deluca's
So here's another SUPER LATE POST. I know, I know....I've got to do way better!!!!
This post comes from my short stay in Charlottesville, VA. My newborn son was in the UVA Children's hospital PICU recovering from heart surgery, It was my birthday and I was kind of depressed. I slept all day. I promised myself a day of rest since I had been going non-stop to see my baby boy swollen ankles and all. I decided to take a walk to clear my head and that's when I happened upon this spot. Pizza sounded good. I was captivated by the sign in the front.

I decided to take a walk to clear my head and that's when I happened upon this spot. Pizza sounded good. I was captivated by the sign in the front.
Ok! Let's see what The Virginia Slice looks like. The inside looks like a euphoric hang out spot. Not classy or updated but it's not a dump. It's right by UVA so the location is perfect for the student stretching their last few dollars. You can tell the appeal of this place instantly gravitates to a younger crowd. There was a deal listed for all Pokemon Go players on their bulletin board.
I'm not even going to lie. I gasped at the sight of the prices. $5 for a slice?? I need to know how big these are. I asked the cashier and he gladly showed me. Ok I'm satisfied that slice size is worth it. Instantly reminded me of NYC.
Looking up and seeing The Benny's Challenge was reminiscent of the places shown on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. I see that they have a winners board ( Sorry not pictured). In case you can't read the photo, The rules state that you have to eat a whole 28' pizza in under an hour to win a $500 cash prize, champion T-Shirt and of course bragging rights. I would love to have seen someone take on this monster in person
So here's my slice. I haven't had a pizza slice this big in a very long time. Soooo... how was the taste?
On a scale of 1-5 with one being horrible and 5 being delicious beyond measure I'd score this a 3 1/2 as good enough to get by. It wasn't bland but I'd prefer a more seasoned sauce like the Italians do it. Besides the taste, I'd say this was NY style pizza. The crust was thin and perfectly crisp. That cheese was run down your chin and stretched out gooey goodness good. I love that there were enough pepperoni on the slice to enjoy with every bite.
You ever been to Benny Deluca's??? Let me know your experience in the comment section

Chick-Fil-A Freebie
Now don't you throw away that receipt!!!
A freebie could be lurking on the front or the back of it. It's just my luck to run across this one a few days ago. Just do the quick survey and get your validation code. I was visiting my son at CHKD and decided to go have some dinner. I absolutely ❤ Chick-Fil-A. This particular visit made my day. After I finished my meal I decided to get some more fries. When I got to the register the cashier surprised me and said the fries were on the house. I think she saw my CHKD visitor pass. That simple gesture really lifted my spirits.

I remember the first time I had Chick-fil-A. At this time I had been in VA for about three months (I'm from NY but this was in 2015 ). This guy I befriended from work asked me if I ever had some. Of course I was confused because I've never heard of them. He ordered for me and I'm happy he did. Those little nuggets and waffle fries changed my life lol.
As they say, the rest is history!!!!

Last year I tried one of their popular menu items which is the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. (Description taken from their website)
I ❤ this sandwich. The chicken has a nice crispy batter. No soggy mess here. The blue cheese crumbles is a perfect compliment to the spice. Prepare to eat this monster with both hands. Damn!!! I want one right now
A large hand-breaded 100% all-natural chicken breast dipped in a spicy seasoned batter, fried to perfection then tossed in our mild wing sauce and served on a sesame seed bun with lettuce, tomato and crumbled bleu cheese.
This year I tried the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. If you're wanting a light lunch or dinner this is perfect. The steak was delicious. I prefer cheddar cheese instead of provolone. As always their fries are nice and crisp. So is your birthday coming up?? Go ahead and sign up for your birthday reward. The Greene Turtle menu has a new look. Let me know what you've tried. I would also recommend anyone to try their delicious chicken tenders. If you get them during the 3pm-7pm Happy Hour they're only $5.

"On This Day" Facebook Food Memory 9-8-16
I'm from NYC. When you think of sandwiches you think of the bodega around the way that gives you a hero with LIFE in it. Along with the free soda and chips WINNING 🙌🙌🙌. In my opinion, a sandwich isn't a sandwich without Boars Head meats. No other brand can compare. The flavor, freshness and quality has never changed. When I first moved to VA and saw the Farm Fresh Deli's carried Boars Head I immediately knew the angels were looking out for me 😂😂. On this day last year I was enjoying this delicious sandwich on my lunch break. There's nothing better than having a wonderful lunch to look forward to. Oh yea this was also the day I discovered that I could get a sandwich made at Farm Fresh. I think I'm on my way there now 😏

Sweet Teas Southern Cuisine (Norfolk)
Yesterday I was scheduled for an NST (Non Stress Test) at Norfolk EVMS. My driver who takes me to appointments got me there to discover they were closed for the 4th of July. (If you need transportation services contact Diane at Wonderfully Made Services, LLC 757-232-2467) Weird!! I was my drivers only pickup. She asked if I was hungry (Lawd when am I not hungry) She had her husband with her so she decided to look up some soul food spots in the area. Her husband is vegetarian so it was important to find a place that would cater to his needs. The first few spots she found turned out to be closed for the holiday. Finally she came upon Sweet Teas and called ahead to verify if they were open. Finally we found somewhere to go!!!
Upon walking in the soul music hit me like I was at home. Luther Vandross was playing. The relaxed ambiance set the tone with soft lighting. We were greeted immediately and then seated in one the booths against the wall. Moments later our waiter came over to take orders. With this being my first soul food experience I wasn't quite ready to place an order yet until I went over the full menu options. My driver and her husband placed their orders. The waiter came back again a few minutes later with our drinks ( I decided to stick to water) and a small basket with cornbread muffins. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture because hunger clouded my brain lol.
I could taste a hint of sweetness in the muffin which was good but a little on the dry side. These were a little darker in color so I assume the were left in the oven a little longer than intended. It was still edible though. After about ten minutes of indecisiveness and looking at plates being taken to the other surrounding tables, I called the waiter over. I ordered the Southern Fried Fish Entree. If you order an entree it comes with two sides and an order of cornbread muffins. I do want to note that It was very busy but whenever we called the waiter over, there were no problems getting whatever we asked for. He did bring over another basket of cornbread muffins.
Yessss!!!! Sweet Tea's redeemed themselves. This second order came to the table moist with that same hint of sweetness. A+ on the cornbread. My driver and her husbands food came to the table
Turkey wings with gravy, Collard greens with Mac and Cheese
Fried Okra, Broccoli with Candied Yams (Vegetarian Plate)
My driver got lucky because she initially ordered rice and gravy but got the mac and cheese by mistake. I like that they let her keep it and still gave her what she ordered (sorry not pictured) I was in awe of the portion sizes. Definitely good bang for your buck. Nothing prepared me for my plate though.
That fish was huge!!! I ordered the Whiting. I'm personally accustomed to a more seasoned fish but I have to remember that everyone's taste is different. Some salt did the trick. As you can see I ordered two side of the Mac and Cheese. I didn't regret it either. The cheese was just oozing with every bite and nicely seasoned.
Overall I give this place two thumbs up.
I still can't believe I didn't eat all my food in one sitting lol. My baby and I had the itis for real.

Starbucks Chocolate Blackout Cupcake
I happen to be out and about with my youngest sister and niece this past weekend. They wanted to walk around the Peninsula Town Center for a little bit. I was already beat from walking all the other places we'd been to and needed desperately to sit down and relax (Carrying a baby is exercise in itself). I told the girls to go on and meet me back at Barnes and Nobles. I really love the relaxed environment inside. Seeing how I was already sitting around I figured I could go for something sweet. You can't help but to get tempted when Starbucks is inside. Now this isn't my first time enjoying this cupcake. It's my second lol. I'm not a huge sweets person but I LOVE chocolate!!! This cupcake really gives me EVERYTHING I need to satisfy my craving. The cake is so moist inside. This cupcake is so good it'll make you want to rewind time back just to eat it again.
HEY CUPCAKE
I"LL BE BACK FOR YOU AGAIN REALLY SOON

Campbell's Skillet Sauces: Creamy Parmesan Chicken
I was food shopping one day and decided I was in the mood to cook something. I saw the Campbell's skillet sauces many varieties and picked up the Creamy Parmesan Chicken. I purchased one since at the time it was only myself in the house (This was before I became pregnant. Way overdue review).
I used boneless chicken tenderloins. I cut the chicken in small pieces and seasoned them with Soul Seasoning (I love this seasoning from Save-a-lot)
After the chicken was done ( I cooked the chicken on the stovetop for about 7-8 mins)
I added the sauce to the pan
The bag of brocolli florets are microwavable ( Yes the easy way out. It comes out steamed with the perfect bite.)
I let the chicken and sauce come to a soft boil then added the broccoli. I had the penne noodles ready.
DINNER IS READY!!!! TIME TO SERVE ON MY BEST CHINA...
😂😂😂
I love saving the combination bowls after I order beef and broccoli from the Chinese food restaurant.
So what did I think???
If you have to watch your salt intake then this sauce isn't for you. I don't recall reading the directions but if this wasn't stated, you may want to dilute the sauce with a little water. Other than that, It was pretty good. I love that the sauce had a nice thick consistency. And the best part is I had leftovers
HAVE YOU TRIED ANY OF THE CAMPBELL'S SKILLET SAUCES??? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENT SECTION....

The Best Ice Cream Ever!!! Good Humor Oreo Dessert Bar
If I'm ever in the mood for ice cream, 95% of the time I'm going for cookies and cream. That five percent is the rare times I'm craving another flavor. Discovering this Oreo cookie Ice cream by Good Humor might have come at the best or worst time depending on how you look at it. I'm pregnant and the cravings sometimes are very intense. Going down the Frozen food aisle a few months ago I saw this ice cream and Immediately grabbed for it. How could it not be good? Having that first bite filled with pieces of Oreo cookies and vanilla ice cream just really hit the spot. I love that the whole bar is covered very graciously with Oreo cookie pieces. From the first bite to the last, you be satisfied with every CRUNCH!!! I used to eat the Klondike Oreo cookie bars for fulfillment. So sorry Klondike....I was kept within your clutch for many years...and now....Good Humor has forever taken your spot. My mother and I are also lovers of the Strawberry Shortcake Dessert Bar. No lack of strawberry flavor.
Are you a fan of Good Humor Products?? Let me know in the comment section.

Today's Lunch: Nathan's Famous Franks and French Fries
I had a great lunch today with my mother. The best part is I made it at home. It's nothing like fast food done yourself!! My mother used to tell me about going to Coney Island ( I was born in Brooklyn, raised in Harlem until I was 11 or 12) so we could munch on the Frank's and fries. She's a vegetarian now but she still enjoys the crinkle cut French fries. She tells me Nathan's fries are still the same as she remembers. That really does attest to great quality especially for a frozen food product. I have to admit that it was my mother that put me on to the fries. I was eating the Ore-Ida brand before. Well there's no debate here. Clearly Nathan's Fries are better tasting. You can taste the freshness of the potatoe in each fry. Each time I've fried them they've always come out nice and crispy.
I've been eating Nathan's Frank's consistently since college (08'). I went to college in Rochester NY. I remember getting really excited when I saw them being sold in a supermarket close to my dorm. These franks are the truth with authentic beef. I just read the article by the New York Daily News about Nathan's 100th anniversary. I wish I was there for the five cent franks. I'm sure me and baby Isaiah would have eaten way to many. Happy anniversary Nathan's Famous and I personally wish you 100 more years. Are you a Nathan's Fan?? Let me know in the comment section. Good Hospital Food?? Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital
May 19, 2016....
During an routine NST test, It was showing that I was having contractions.....and that's how I ended up in the hospital ( http://isaiahsmommyforever.blogspot.com/ My Pregnancy Blog if you would like to follow)
I never had a hospital food experience to brag about until now. An hour after being in the hospital I was informed to order dinner. The menu looked quite fancy so I was intrigued. The menu had a build your own pasta option with either Spaghetti or Alfredo. Then you was able to pick what kind of pasta noodles and meats you wanted. I decided to go for fettuccine chicken and shrimp Alfredo. I wasn't expecting what came up to me.The shrimp and chicken came grilled. The Alfredo sauce was perfectly seasoned with herbs and just thick enough. This meal was finger lickin' good lol. So good that I got it again for lunch the next day. Not what I expected from a hospital.
So.... If you're in Hampton/Newport News VA or other surrounding areas and have to end up at Mary Immaculate Hospital, go ahead and order up that Alfredo. You won't be disappointed.....

Wendy's Mozzarella Bacon Burger
I was treated to some Wendy's yesterday. Pregnancy cravings lead me to getting my usual which is the Asiago Ranch Chicken Club. Of course that will always be my number one item of choice pregnant or not. Anyways as I was being driven through the drive-thru I saw the big sign about this new burger. Well I'm hungry so why not try it especially since I'm not paying!!! I ate my chicken sandwich first since that was the main purpose for my visit. I waited about five minutes for that to digest before I went in on this burger. Now I haven't had a burger from Wendy's in quite some time. Although I'm a fan of the restaurant in general (starting when I had my first Junior Bacon Cheeseburger Thanks mommy) I stopped eating the burgers because I felt the salt content was way to much.
Alright so let me get to the point....I would never get this burger again. Personally I don't feel that mozzarella cheese has any business on a burger. The burger tasted very bland. I was wishing for some of that salt I complained about lol. No flavor. I see how they wanted to be fancy with the greens. I can dig it. I did not taste the garlic parmesan so maybe that is what takes from the overall experience. I love the brioche bun as always. Bacon was crispy and on point as usual. Now that beef patty.....Hmmm... It looked weird to me that it was so small. I was expecting the usual thick and juicy burger. I did not get the onion on my burger because I'm just not a fan. So yea....that's my review on the NEW Wendy's Mozzarella Bacon Burger. Have you tried it yet??? Let me know your thoughts down below
